QUINOA • TOFU
Have your kids tried quinoa? As quinoa is a good source of fibre, high in protein and contains all essentials amino acids which support the growth and development for toddlers so i like to serve quinoa to my little one when i don’t have much time to prepare a dinner.
Today I served quinoa with tofu and veggies to my little one and she loved it. You can serve quinoa with any choice of your favourite meats.
▶️ 1 part uncooked quinoa (1 cup quinoa)
▶️ 2 parts water (2 cups water)
▶️ Salt, to taste (around ¼ teaspoon salt )
▶️ Silken tofu
▶️ Your choice of veggies
Served with avocado, tomatoes and garnished with coriander, raspberries, mint and sesame seeds
How to cook quinoa
▶️ Rinse the quinoa and Drain well.
▶️ Combine the rinsed quinoa and water in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, Cook until the quinoa has absorbed all of the water, about 10 to 20 minutes.
▶️ Remove the pot from heat, cover, and let the quinoa steam for 5 minutes. Remove the lid and fluff the quinoa with a fork. Season with salt.
▶️ Served it with tofu avocado and tomato. Garnished with coriander, raspberries, mint and sesame seeds
